Media distributors more encouraged as video app looks to find footing

Verizon Communications Inc.’s rollout of go90, a video-centric mobile app aimed at younger viewers not loyal to traditional TV, has underwhelmed the advertising community thus far.

Launched last October, go90 is a mobile app that features video content from traditional TV networks like Comedy Central as well as digital natives like the teen-targeted AwesomenessTV. The free app also offers some live NFL games to Verizon subscribers.
