LOS ANGELES ??? Feb. 12, 2015 ??? In honor of Valentine's Day and celebrating love—for everyone, even those with gaps between their teeth, dandruff or questionable dance moves—today XO Mints, The Flirtatious Mint™, is launching a brutally fun social music video, "The Ugly Couple Song." It features Los Angeles band Run River North covering a song originally written by Joshua Beeman and encourages everyone to open their hearts to love every day.
"We want everyone to share XO Mints with someone they love, or with someone they'd like to, because, if they do, as the song says, maybe they can make 'something beautiful,'" said Dan Loritz, co-founder of XO Mints. "And this is what we think the message of the song is about too—you don't have to be a supermodel to make #SomethingBeautiful. We're aiming Cupid's arrow at everyone this Valentine's Day."
"The Ugly Couple Song," created, directed and produced by RPA Advertising with Cut+Run handling editorial, stars three quirky men with humorous and yet somewhat universal tales of their awkward years, finding true love and ultimately starting "something beautiful."
Fans can download the song on xomints.com for FREE.
To celebrate the release of the song and video, XO Mints invites everyone to share images of love and beauty that are traditionally beautiful, heartwarming or that challenge stereotypes using the hashtag #SomethingBeautiful. XO Mints will be promoting the video on its Facebook and Twitter pages.
Packaged in its sleek, black, fashionable tin, XO Mints received their first big break in Los Angeles at the GRAMMYs as part of talent gift bags. They were also featured in the talent lounge and celebrity dressing rooms. A few weeks later, XO Mints will also be tucked into Oscar talent gift bags as well.
