Santa Monica, Calif., Aug. 5, 2013 — Today, the Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club (ABAC) is presenting Lisa Pilger, VP, Director of Local Media at RPA, a leading advertising agency headquartered in Los Angeles, with a Lifetime Achievement award. Pilger leads the day-to-day operations of RPA's local buying division from RPA's Atlanta office.

The ABAC Lifetime Achievement award recognizes a select few individuals who have made a lasting imprint on the Atlanta advertising community. The ABAC is one of the largest media organizations in the Southeast established to unite broadcast professionals.

Pilger joined RPA in 1994 when RPA was setting up the regional office network specifically to handle the Honda Regional Marketing business. She took over as Spot Broadcast Manager of RPA Atlanta, setting up staff and overseeing the local market buying in 45 markets in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. She instituted initial systems and procedures and established relationships with both the Honda Regional clients and with sales representatives and local station management in the region.

"This Lifetime Achievement award celebrates Lisa's steadfast dedication to RPA and the Atlanta media community," said Cathleen Campe, SVP, Director of Media Communications at RPA. "She is a talented leader who inspires collaboration, and her ability to work toward integration as local media evolves keeps RPA and our local media asset poised as a leader in the industry. She is not afraid of embracing changes that others may shy away from in favor of the benefits to RPA clients and the industry as a whole."

As VP, Director of Local Media, Pilger has been responsible for managing a 93-person staff and more than $375 million in media billings. She has managed the local market buying for clients such as multiple Honda and Acura Dealer Associations, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Reily Foods, Honda Regional Marketing, Acura Regional Marketing, California Tobacco Control, Charter Behavioral Health, Lenox Financial, WellPoint Health Networks (Blue Cross Blue Shield, UniCare), American Century Investments, Pioneer Electronics, SOYJOY, MGM Theatrical Division, Charles Schwab and VH-1.

Pilger is a member of the RPA Management Committee and represents the agency on the AAAA's Local TV and Radio Committee. With more than 23 years in the business, Pilger has been a very active member of the advertising community, including serving as a past vice president of the Atlanta Broadcast Advertising Club (ABAC). She is a frequent speaker on various advertising panels at conferences and in smaller sessions with station ownership groups and sales representative meetings.

A Northwestern University graduate, Pilger began her career in the media business at Leo Burnett in Chicago.
