Shelley Watson Joins RPA as V.P., Director of Entertainment

Santa Monica, Calif., Oct. 10, 2006 — RPA, the largest independent advertising agency on the West Coast, welcomes Shelley Watson as V.P., Director of Entertainment. She will lead the media team for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM), owners of the world's largest modern film and television library. Under Watson's strategic direction, the agency will launch 6-8 releases through the end of the year.

Having worked in the media business since 1986, Watson most recently worked out of Starcom's Los Angeles office as the leader of the Broadcast Investment Group. This position entailed running all facets of national television investment for Walt Disney Co.'s Theatrical and Home Entertainment business.

Previously, Watson worked at Starcom's Chicago headquarters where she began as Media Director for the Broadcast Investment Group in 1998. She was named a Vice President of the company in 1999 and Senior Vice President in 2002. Watson served as the primary agency negotiator for the six broadcast networks and lead Investment Media Director for Kellogg's, Toys R Us and Philip Morris, among other clients.

In 1998, prior to joining Starcom, Shelley was tapped to run the newly consolidated Johnson & Johnson AOR group at McCann-Erickson. Watson's career also includes buying experience working across several agencies on several different clients.

Watson earned a bachelor's of science degree from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications in 1986.
