Among the halls of RPA, arguably no snack is as famous as Mark Tripp's cookies. He's often asked to share the recipe, so here it is. (Technically, it's his best friend’s Grandmother’s recipe. But "Tripp's Best Friend's Grandmother's Cookies" doesn't roll off the tongue as easily as "Tripp's Cookies.")
  • 1 Cups Crisco (butter flavor is good)
  • 1/3 Cups butter (soften to room temp)
  • 1 Cups sugar
  • 1 Cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbl vanilla (I use Mexican vanilla)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Blend all of the above add in the following:
  • 3 Cups all purpose flour (Mix in gradually. I use White Lily All Purpose flour. Available on Amazon.)
  • 12-18 oz. semi sweet choc. chips (I like to load up on chips)
Drop in balls on cookie sheet - 2” apart bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
Pan cookie:

  • Put batter on a cookie sheet (I use a 9" X 13” pyrex pan)
  • Bake at 350 for about 18 minutes
