The redesigned Civic Hatchback has a bold, fearless style that differentiates it from the rest of the Civic family. To highlight this, we created a social campaign set in the bold, vividly stylized world of a comic book—one where the Civic has a starring role.
Revenge of the Biospiders is set in a postapocalyptic world where genetically engineered spiders, once designed to save humanity, have instead overtaken it. Now, two unlikely heroes and their Civic Hatchback must save mankind.
We animated the comic to create a minute-long film, which we rolled out in six serialized chapters on social media. In addition, we used Instagram’s grid layout to create something totally unique: a horizontal comic book. Visitors to the dedicated @hondacomics account can read the entire story in one long, horizontal scroll.
