Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s officially launched the new Hot Honey Hand-Breaded Chicken menu on September 22 with the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and Biscuit. For the launch, CKE teamed up with Adult Swim to offer customers a special co-branded combo meal. The [adult swim] meal includes a collectible cup and figurine. There are eight different figures for fans to collect, including seven that feature popular Adult Swim IP and one that features Happy Star.
The [adult swim] meal will be available through November 7, while supplies last.
The campaign features several new ad spots, including the Hot Honey Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich and the figurines.
Additionally, a wave of social content to support both the [adult swim] meal and the new product launch has started to roll out on Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram
In October, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. will be front and center on Adult Swim. Fans tuning in to Adult Swim will be treated to a special series of Friday-night marathons—rebranded as Happy-Thons—sponsored by Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr.
Viewers will get to enjoy co-branded custom spots featuring Adult Swim IP, including tune-in messaging, billboards, and some brand-new animated vignettes. The tune-in messages will air throughout the week leading up to each of the three marathons, while the billboards and vignettes will air within each marathon.
Here’s the tune-in schedule for each marathon airing midnight to 3 a.m.:
- Happy-Thon #1 features SeaLab on Friday, October 8
- Happy-Thon #2 features Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Friday, October 15
- Happy-Thon #3 features Space Ghost on Friday, October 22

Adult Swim will also be promoting the partnership on its social channels to create an additional touch point between its fans, Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s and the [adult swim] meal.
And starting October 1, the Hot Honey Hand-Breaded Chicken menu will be featured on Hulu’s ad-supported service via a custom animated spot along with the introduction of the Hulu Binge Ad. The Binge Ad is activated as viewers binge three consecutive episodes of a show and are served a series of Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s advertisements that culminate in a reward offer that can be activated via an on-screen QR code or URL.
