Under the Influence
To mark the 15th year of the Newport Beach Film Festival, an integrated ad campaign launched to celebrate the power of film and its ability to change people in unexpected ways. Video, print, out-of-home and festival programs showcase the distinctive personality of the festival and the creativity it inspires.
At the centerpiece of the campaign is a video, "Bedtime Story," which introduces the festival's comedic projectionist of the last 15 years. He reenacts references from famous films, such as "Fargo," "Her," "Memento" and "Pulp Fiction," after his daughter's request for a simple bedtime story. Clearly, this dedicated and passionate projectionist has been exposed to perhaps too much of a good thing and is "under the influence" of powerful film.
