Working closely with Twitter to create this unique program, Honda has not only become one of the first brands to use the Instant Win feature, but also the first automaker to give away a car on the platform. As a user, the experience is simple and instantaneous. Fans who retweet one of Honda's daily #OpenTheCheer tweets almost immediately receive a video response revealing whether they've won a gift. Adding to the magic, every video in the #OpenTheCheer campaign begins with same whimsical imagery first seen in this year's TV campaign. One of the many doors of the Happy Honda Days house opens to reveal a gift (an Amazon gift card or Apple Watch) or a message encouraging the user to try again the next day.
Win or lose, many #OpenTheCheer participants are responding with enthusiasm fitting for the holiday season. And the cheer doesn't end there. On top of it all, every retweet counts toward a $100,000 donation to Honda's long-time partner, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
